(August 18, 2016) The City of Frisco will spray for mosquitoes August 20 and 21 after receiving confirmation one mosquito pool tested ‘positive’ for West Nile virus (WNV).
Weather permitting, on the first evening, spraying will start at 9 p.m. Saturday and continue through 6 a.m. Sunday. Spraying will resume at 9 p.m. Sunday (also weather permitting) and continue through 6 a.m. Monday.
A city contractor will target the Starwood neighborhood by ground spraying.
Today’s confirmations bring the number of ‘positive’ mosquito pools in Frisco this summer to 25. No human cases are confirmed here.
The City of Frisco supports four precautionary habits promoted by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
In accordance with its plan, Frisco began testing for mosquitoes May 1.
