(December 6, 2011) The City of Frisco’s “Fitness in the Square” will recess for the next five Thursdays, December 8 – January 5. The free, weekly workout sessions will resume on Thursday January 12 and feature Zumba.
“This is a busy time of year and we thought we’d take a break so folks could enjoy the holidays,” said Mayor Maher Maso. “One of the holiday sights residents, and visitors alike, can enjoy this time of year is the magnificent light display, featured throughout Frisco Square, and choreographed to music. We didn’t want to be a distraction – or have our music compete with the incredible display, so we thought this is a good time to take a break. But we’ll see you next year and hope you’ll join our workout on January 12.”
“Fitness in the Square” is part of “Be Fit Frisco” -- a Mayor Maher Maso initiative designed to promote fitness opportunities throughout our community.
In November, the City of Frisco began hosting workout sessions on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Free workout sessions are held at Simpson Plaza in front of City Hall, located in the heart of Frisco Square, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.
