Stage Three 

Goal
Stage 3 goal for water use reduction is ten percent.

This may occur when Lake Lavon or Jim Chapman fall below 45 percent of NTMWD’s total conservation pool capacity, or if other conditions warrant the declaration of Stage 3.


Watering guidelines
Continue the actions available under Stages 1 and 2

Limit outdoor watering to once-per-week, if necessary. The watering day schedule is based on location within the residential trash collection day zone and applies to both residential and non-residential water customers. View the Stage 3 Watering Schedule Map

During Daylight Saving Time, outdoor watering is prohibited from 5am-8am and from 10am-6pm daily

Foundations, new landscaping, new plantings (first year) of shrubs, and trees may be watered for up to 2 hours on any day by a hand-held hose, a soaker hose, or a dedicated zone using a drip/bubbler irrigation system. 

Landscape associated with new construction that may be watered as necessary for 30 days from the date of the certificate of occupancy, temporary certificate of occupancy, or certificate of completion. 

Areas associated with public safety as determined by the City of Frisco may be watered twice per week. 

Locations using other water sources such as well water, water reuse, or reclaimed water for irrigation may irrigate without watering day restrictions. 

Registered and properly functioning smart irrigation systems may irrigate without watering day restrictions, but not more than once every five days. 

Prohibit hosing of paved areas, buildings, or windows. (Pressure washing of impervious surfaces is allowed) 

Prohibit operation of all ornamental fountains or other amenity impoundments to the extent they use treated water. 

Prohibit washing or rinsing of vehicles by hose except with a hose end cutoff nozzle. 

Prohibit using water in such a manner as to allow runoff or other waste.


Don't forget to follow these year-round rules:
- No watering of impervious surfaces like streets, parking lots, alleys, driveways, etc.
- No watering during precipitation or at temperatures below 40 F.
- No water runoff flowing away from property. Water waste is prohibited at all times. This includes lawn watering overspray and runoff.


Variances
Exceptions may be made for landscaping associated with new construction through the New Landscape Exemption Request. Approved watering exemptions allow watering for 30 days from the date of installation.
